Ladies come from behind to win cup match

The first team played host to MK Dons in their cup match today. Although the girls started brightly and created many chances , they were unable to convert them. M K Dons took advantage of this and the Denham girls soon found themselves 2-0 down. The second half saw the girls respond well and it wasn't long before they pulled a goal back from Helen Capewell. In the closing minutes Alissa Down took a corner and found the head of Lauren Cox who powered the ball into the back of the net. Extra time was played with neither team finding a way through. Penalties it was and Denham stepped up when Goalie Lizzie Rose saved 3 penalties and Alissa Down, Holleigh Marsh Jeta Bytyqi and Helen Capewell all converted their penalties in a sudden death shootout to see them win 6-5 .
