Girls come from behind to progress to the next round of The County Cup

The ladies hosted league rivals Whyteleafe Women at The Den today in The County Cup. The ladies had a bad start to the game and not for the first time, we had to come from behind to win the game . However it was the fantastic character and performance from the whole team to come from 2-0 down to win 4-2. We managed to pull a goal back shortly after Whyteleafe's 2nd when Lauren Cox got on the scoresheet. Second half saw us pull it back level when Cox this time turned provider for Annie Hewitt to slot the ball past the keeper. Our 3rd came on 66 minutes when Kara Howes scored with a wonder strike just past the half way line !! Annie Hewitt then got her brace with a well taken free kick to give the girls a 4-2 victory and into the hat for the next round . However credit must be given to Whyteleafe who started the game well and battled through to the last minute.

The ladies now face local league rivals QPR Women at The Den in the next round on 15th November , k.o time TBC.
