County Cup Semi Final

Today Denham u15s faced Tottenham Hotspur U16s in the semi final of the Middlesex Cup.

The odds were stacked steeply against Denham with an injury, sickness & unavailability list as long as the Great wall of China the Girls started the contest brightly against their more illustrious and supposedly 'Higher' Level opponents with a succession of flowing passing moves creating several half chances. Unfortunately in the cruel twist of fate Tottenham went in 2-0 up at half time due to 2 freak own goals!

During the break the canny management team shuffled the pack and got an even better and more productive effort from the team as they played without fear or Respect for their Counterparts. But in pushing forward Denham were caught out and conceded the decisive 3rd goal which was totally against the run of play!

Everyone connected with the Club can hold their heads up with immense pride as the Girls left nothing on the pitch against a high Quality and well drilled side. The gap between the two teams was minimal in the technical department and in a bruising encounter the Denham girls more than held their own physically as well. But the 12 months difference in age player for player is where Tottenham shaded it. Another 12 months development and Quality coaching and mentoring This Denham team will surpass This current Tottenham team without a doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!
