Girls move up to second in table following great display of football

The Under 15's played host to Ascot on Sunday at the Den looking to continue with their winning streak and they didn't disappoint with an superb display of football that resulted in an emphatic 11-0 win.

Within a minute of kick off Katie A tested the Ascot keeper with a shot on goal however the keeper got both hands to the ball and saved it.
Ascot received the ball from the Goalie's kick and tried to go on a run , however as the game would dictate no sooner did they try this Annie was on hand to win the ball and knock it out for a throw in. The girls took control of play Charlotte won the ball in midfield and put a ball down the left wing for Yas who did the first of her many accurate crosses into the box for Jess whose effort on goal just hit the post.
With only 4 minutes played the girls continued to pile on the Pressure , Annie this time put through a fantastic ball to Kayleigh who in turn crossed it to Jess , Jess headed it on to Yas who blasted it over to Kayleigh who got her head on it only for it to go off for a goal kick.
The pressure finally paid off when Kayleigh intercepted the goalies kick and went through 2 defenders to score the first of her 4 goals . 1-0 Denham. The girls continued to play some lovely football with some simple passing up the field , there was a lovely 1-2 between Julia and Yas which then saw the ball land at Katie A's feet and her powerful shot just hit the cross bar. On 7 minutes the girls got their second when Annie put through another great ball to Yas on the wing who crossed it over to Jess who slotted in the first of her 4 goals to make it 2-0. More good link up play this time between Chloe and Katie R and yet more shots on goal could of increased the score when 2 efforts from Yas in quick succession were denied by the heroics of the Ascot keeper. Jess got her 2nd goal on 15 minutes when Kayleigh received the ball inside the box and could of easily of slotted the ball in , but instead unselfishly passed the ball over to Jess who tapped the ball in the back of the net 3-0 Denham.
The girls continued to press with the ball , Katie R continued to work hard on the right with passes to Katie A , Julia and Charlotte in Midfield.

On 24 minutes Charlotte , Katie R , Jess and Chloe made way for Maddie , Kodi Reanna and Alketa .

The girls got to work straight away , Kodi receiving the ball early travelled down the wing then passed the ball over to Yas whose shot just went over the cross bar. Ascot then travelled with the ball from the goalies kick trying to break forward but Reanna who was in defence neatly intercepted the ball and once again Denham took control.
Having had very little to do , when called upon Gracie was on fine form when Ascot did break , she came charging out of her goal to beat the Ascot Striker and knock the ball onto Alketa who took the ball forward.
The girls continued to show a great display of football and looked very comfortable on the ball, Julia calmly turning the Ascot midfielder, passing the ball up field.

With the clock showing 30 minutes the girls increased the score to 4-0 , this time Julia got her name on the score sheet when a cross from Yas found Kayleigh who herself crossed it over to Julia for her to slot the ball in the back of the net. Even with the first half nearing the end the girls didn't give up , Alketa and Maddie also had turns at attempts on goal, Alketa with a well timed header from a corner but once again the Ascot Keeper kept the score down with her saves.
In the last few minutes Gina put through a fantastic ball to Yas who again put in an accurate cross to Kayleigh and although her shot found the back of the net again, it was ruled offside.
Just before half time Katie A came off due to an injury and was replaced by Charlotte.

SECOND HALF. - Subs on Katie R , Jess
Off - Yas , Julia

The girls started the half as they finished the first, dominating from the off and every attempt from Ascot to break down the Denham defence was stopped when Annie and Gina linked up well to ensure no balls were getting passed them. The girls played from the back Gracie to Gina who after travelling with the ball through the midfield found Kodi whose cross came off the Ascot defender for a corner.
Up stepped Kayleigh who put the ball into the box after it bounced around in the box it finally found the feet of Charlotte who fired her shot into the back of the net to make it 5-0 Denham after just 2 minutes .
With no signs of letting up the girls continued to pass the ball around the pitch , with lovely play from the back starting with Gracie at the back, showing off their triangular formation of passing . Reanna passing to Alketa who found Katie R who in turn knocked the ball through to Kodi. In another display of good passing Gina passed to Charlotte who in turn found Kodi who was unfortunately pulled up for offside. Kodi had an attempt on goal saved when Maddie passed on a ball to her from the middle of the park. Still pushing forward , Annie received the ball from Gracie and travelled with the ball passing the Ascot Midfielders and had her 40 yard shot saved .

After Gina took a knock when her and Annie both stopped the Ascot forward getting through she was replaced by Chloe who took her turn again in protecting the back line.
10 minutes in the girl's made it 6-0 when Kodi crossed a ball into the box, after Alketa miss kicked it , the ball rebounded to Jess who completed her hat trick.
Reanna and Alketa then came off for Yas and Julia, straight away Yas got back into action when she ran up the line crossed the ball over to Jess who netted the ball in the back of the net with her first touch completing her goal tally of 4 and Denhams 7th.
Ascot kicked off but once again the girls immediately intercepted their play, Charlotte passed on to Kodi who ran up the line and put a cross into Kayleigh who with her first touch got her 2nd and Denhams 8th.
Good passing and team work continued from the girls again working from the back up field. Annie this time put a long ball through to Kayleigh who completed her hat trick and made it 9-0.
It wasn't long before the girls hit double figures when another Corner from Kayleigh hit the cross bar and landed at Reanna's feet . Reanna then crossed it to Charlotte who hit the back of her net for her 2nd . Yas also tried to get on the score sheet when her 30 yard shot flew just over the cross bar. Kayleigh finished off the match when Alketa knocked the ball over the top to her, she then went around the keeper for her 4th and the girls's 11th !

To summarize the girls played some fantastic football showing their passing skills and good link up play with each other starting from the back all the way to the top of the pitch. The Ascot goal keeper needs a special mention as if it wasn't for her well timed saves the score could of been a lot higher. Every girls gave 100% making it an very enjoyable game of football to watch. Player of the match was awarded to Jess. The girls face Crystal Palace on Sunday at the Den looking to repeat another great display of football.

Thanks to Katie A , Jess , Alketa , Kodi and Maddie for their input on this weeks match report.
