The under 13s played away on Saturday against Bury Rangers, switching our home fixture because of the weather. Conditions were severely blustery, hurricane even, which made it very difficult for both sides to play any football at all. We started very brightly and took full advantage of the wind, leading 3-1 at half time with goals from Megan & Kate Atwell plus Kai Gaillard. Despite the conditions, our girls tried to get the ball down and play, put some really nice moves together and thoroughly deserved our half time lead. The second half proved the polar opposite, with Bury piling on the pressure to try and get back into the game. Unfortunately for our girls we couldn’t sustain the hold out and succumbed to a 5-3 defeat. As always, very proud of our girls for their effort, determination and the encouraging football we are trying to play.
