Girls come from behind to win on penalties

The under 13s played on Saturday against Bedwell Rangers in their league Shield Cup Semi Final. It was great to see the girls really up for it , most have never played in a semi final let alone get to a final and there were plenty of nerves which made the game very scrappy. Bedwell took the lead early but we pegged them back to be 1-1 at half time with a beautiful goal from Kacey Rostron, pressurising their defence to intercept the bell and slot home. 2nd half the game continued to be scrappy, when we maintained our shape and space we easily created opportunities but never made the right final decision. The game ended 1-1 after extra time so it was a very nervy and tense finish having penalties to decide. Massive well done to Kelsey Botten, Kate and Megan Atwell for stepping up and all taking beautiful calm penalties, even more massive well done to Charlotte Verity for making 1 amazing save in the second half and saving the Bedwell penalties, off we go to the final, very proud of my girls, go on Denham!!!
