3pts for Ladies in hard fought 1st game of the season

The Reserves started their league campaign today in the GLWFL and did exactly what I asked them to do, win. They started the first half playing some excellent patient football, which looked to me and 1st Team Manager Craig that they have put into practise what we have done in training. On 13 Minutes Annie played a great diagonal ball to Ellen which put us 1-0 up. Second half Headstone came at us but Kayleigh in goal, pulled off some superb saves, some of which were extremely brave. Headstone did manage an equaliser on 55 minutes but we changed formation and as a result Lizzie Dunning got 2 goals which were assisted by Ellen and Ella on 58 and 85 minutes . On 89 minutes Headstone again pulled a goal back leaving it a tense last 6 minutes (5 of which were in added time) with them pushing for the equalizer. The girls also had to see out the last 7 minutes with 10 players due to a Sin Bin incident. Senior debuts were given today to last seasons U16s player Elle-Mae Goodman and new signing Megan Benford. 3 stand out players for me today were Kayleigh, Priya and Chloe.
