Ladies leave it late with last minute winner

The first team left it late to get the winning goal in the FA Women's Premier League Cup first round against Brislington Ladies in a 3-2 win on Sunday. Denham started the game comfortably and went 1-0 up through a Jenny Banfield lob in the first five minutes. Denham created numerous opportunities in the first 20 minutes but were unable to capitalise on them. They finally doubled their lead with a great move from back to front which Rebecca French calmly slotted home from a tight angle. Brislington managed to get themselves back in the game with 2 goals in quick succession. Denham controlled the game in the second half but were unable to break the deadlock, being denied by their goalkeeper on a number of occasions. With the last minute of the game and extra time looming a great run and shot from Aimee Dunn finally beat the goalkeeper. Denham won the game 3-2 and are now in the hat for the next round of the league cup. They are in FA Cup action on 9th October at home to Ipswich Town, all support is welcome 2pm kick off, free entry.
