Under 14's make it through extra - time to claim maiden victory.

The Under 14's played host today to Mole Valley in the Surrey league Cup looking for their first win of the season. The Denham girls started strongly but against the run of play the visitors went ahead after 7 minutes. The girls continued to press for the equalizer and 5 minutes before the break were rewarded with their efforts when Shania Foley put through a clever ball for Kayleigh Currivan to slot home to the make the score level going into half time. The second half saw the Denham girls concede another early goal , however this seemed to spur the girls on and it wasn't long before the girls levelled the score again when Currivan this time received a through ball from Katie Akerman to net her 2nd of the match. At 2-2 Extra time came and within a few minutes of the re-start a great individual strike from Mole Valley's striker saw the visitors take the lead 3-2 for the third time in the match. Once again the Denham girls showed character and determination , and again levelled the score to 3-3 with a goal from Maddie Vilday. The girls pushed for the winner and Vilday was on hand moments later when she scored again to give the girls a well deserved 4-3 lead when the visitors failed to clear the ball. The girls continued to play some great teamwork and the whole team worked tirelessly to hold onto the lead. The defence consisting of Charlotte Parrett, Reanna Isaacs Chloe Smith and Katie Akerman stayed strong at the back alongside Goalie Gracie Perkis . Jessica Stickley, Julia Thurauf, Holly Symons controlled the Midfield winning all the challenges and supporting striker Kodi Spencer. Sub Cara Fox also played her part well in only her 2nd game for Denham. In a nervous last 5 minutes and looking to secure their place in the next round of the cup , Currivan claimed her hat trick to end the game 5-3 to Denham. All the girls played their best football this season , player of the match went to Julia Thurauf . The girls now face last years league winners Carshalton F.C in the next round.
