Superb team performance see girls through to next round of County Cup

U14s played Brent schools girls away in the County Cup on Saturday. The game was played on a lovely surface that suited our game to a tee
We started the game like a steam train not letting the opposition settle at all.
Early opportunities came and went with us going close a few times before we took the lead with Ellie Trigg scoring after some excellent approach play. We put in numerous corners but couldn’t convert one.
The second goal came again after some quick pass and move football which ended in Melissa Andersen slotting the ball home from just outside the box high into the net
The football we were producing was at times mesmeric and a joy to watch, the third goal was a real peach, Brent conceded a free kick 25-30 yards out and Erin Dennis stepped up and picked out the top corner past the keeper who had no chance they could have had 3 goalkeepers in there and they wouldn’t have got it.
We continued to attack at will and created many openings with one ending in a tap in for Erin for her second goal.
In the second half we took our foot off the gas a bit but still controlled the game and played in bursts, Beckie now playing right wing got in behind at will. Beckie scored the fifth goal with a good run down the right then cutting in and slotting home.
The sixth goal came with more good play moving the ball across the pitch,Erin playing Beckie in down the right again, again Beckie cut in and from the angle blasted the ball into the roof of the net.
Brent had few opportunities in the game with Kayleigh only being called into action in the final few minutes but making 2 cracking saves to preserve the clean sheet we deserved

"I must say today was some of the best football I’ve seen us play with us working triangles all over the pitch then good movement to receive the next pass , I wish I had recorded it to show the girls how well they had done
onto the next round."
